About Me

Filip Van Rijsselberge presents a graphic interpretation of contemporary society in the form of a continuous multimedia scroll. Classic copper engravings, woodcuts, digital arrangements and painting merge into a rhythmic image flow that reflects the dynamics of our digital reality.

The viewer is invited to actively navigate through this sequence and experience the tension between the images — a reflection on the influence of visual information on our collective consciousness.

RAPPORT

Votre travail est narratif d'une manière très libre : vous donnez des suggestions, d'une manière associative. Vous donnez une direction au spectateur. Les figurations font partie d'une œuvre d'une manière « illogique », mais très « naturelle ». Les images font germer l'illustratif et le figuratif : l'image se trouve d'elle-même parce que vous traitez précisément de la figuration. Humour, punk, liberté... Vous créez des images archétypales et utilisez des éléments visuels pour créer certaines focalisations (qui rappellent parfois le travail de Walter Swennen). Ce sont des images qui restent en mémoire. Peindre sur des images, relier le graphisme et la peinture fonctionne de manière très fraîche. L'intégration du graphisme et du travail numérique est également de premier ordre !
